A Water Heater Replacement and Updated Venting

This was a leaking Rheem water heater in Longmont Colorado. No expansion tank , no drip pan, and definitely not our preferred brand...ugh!.

We removed this old lemon, replaced the ball valve with a new one, added the expansion tank , drip pan, and replaced gas connector. We also discovered the vent piping from the water heater that connects with the vent from the furnace was completely rusted out, allowing carbon monoxide to leak out into the living space. So of course, no shortcuts here...so of course, we replaced it.
